GoConnect are currently running the following skills and enterprise programmes. These are suitable for young people from the ages of 14 to 25.
Our highly successful enterprise project run as part of the Rural Development Programme gave young people a chance to combine their shared passion for video games and explore running video game events as a route into self employment. Over 40 people were in attendance at their first event, and their success has encouraged them to continue running events after the course had been completed.
A community engagement programme for young people aged 14-25 in need of positive intervention. We provide a positive, creative learning space to bring those less visible in the community together to learn new skills and gain new experiences with the support of Welsh ICE businesses. The sessions are centred around gaming and technology, business and enterprise, creative industries and environment and sustainability projects.
GoConnect have partnered up with O2 and the National Youth Agency to deliver Think Big Community Projects across South Wales to help young people get their creative ideas off the ground. We share our expertise, knowledge and resources to help young people bring their ideas to life and use digital skills for social good. Young people are running Think Big projects all over the country, making a difference in their communities and honing their digital skills.
GoConnect are a registered Duke of Edinburgh Award Centre supporting young people to achieve all award levels through Bronze, Silver and Gold. We also work with the Caerphilly Adventures group to provide exciting outdoor activities such as rock climbing and caving. If you know of anyone aged 14-25 who may be interested in participating then please get in touch. More information on the Duke of Edinburgh award can be found at dofe.org.
